Kira Delara In The Making!

Kira Delara huh? Hmmm, We've heard a lot about you. Tell me a little bit about yourself and how you became interested in the music entertainment
industry?

I became interested when I was about 7 years old and listened to Whitney Houston's "I will always love you." Her voice was so inspirational that it made me want to be just like her. I learned how to belt at an early age because of her and Celine Dion. After I fell in love with singing, things just started falling into place!

So, How difficuly is it as a female artist to breakthough and what are some of your struggles as a recording artist?

I think the hardest thing about being a female artist is gaining respect from a male that's in the industry. Many women, including myself, face the challenge of being taken advantage of and it's hard to be taken seriously and not just seen as another pretty face. I think it's important, especially for females, to be strong and to never let any man that's in this industry take advantage of us!

Do you write your own music?

I write my own music and also work with other songwriters

What are some of the people you have worked with and what mainstream artist or producers would you love to work with?

I've worked with a very long list of producers and songwriters but I've dreamed of working with people from Ne-Yo, Keri Hilson to Swizz Beats!

What is the music scene like in your particular genre in Philadelphia?

The music scene is a bit tougher as a pop artist in philadelphia because most artists are hardcore hip-hop or rock. However, it helps me pave my own way in Philly to be different.

Do you currently have distribution or are you shopping for a record deal?

I am currently shopping for a deal.

Your vocals are amazing, what is your writing and recording process like, if you want to share that with us, ahhaa.

I typically will listen to a track and just start feeling out melodies and play around with words. As soon as a track is played, I think about the type of vibe I'm feeling or a theme - it ranges anywhere from sadness, happiness, party time, and more.

What is the Kira Delara targeted demographic?

I am targetting any age and any race. I think that music should expand to everyone and not be secluded to one sector!

What is next or what can we expect from you in 2010-2011?

You can expect new hits coming out this year as well as a possible tour!

Well we definetly appreciate you taking time out to introduce the rest of the world to such an amazing, beautiful, and gifted artist. What is your 2010 message to the independent industry and upcoming artist like your self in this digital era who are working to become successful in your
genre?

Never give up. Keep working on your craft and don't stop.  Always keep the doors open and be willing to do any type of work to get ahead in the game.
