Swizz Beatz Adds Bounce to Knicks "Go New York" Anthem

As the New York Knicks prepare to wrap up one of the most exciting seasons in recent years - thanks to the acquisition of Amar'e Stoudemire and most recently Carmelo Anthony - Swizz Beatz has signed on to revamp the team's anthem, "Go New York." The Bronx native produced and recorded the reworked theme song and teamed up with the Knick's new stars to film the video.
"It's been 10 years since they remade the "Go New York' track," Stoudemire told MTV News while on set with the super producer at the video shoot. "So it's only right to have Swizzy out here with us. We taking this thing to a whole 'nother level thanks to the players and the whole team."
There's no denying the Knicks are long overdue for a new anthem that's sure to add to the buzz surrounding the rejuvenated team as they head into the playoffs for the first time in 10 years. The Knicks will enter the NBA playoffs as the No. 6 seed from the Eastern Conference and will face the Boston Celtics on Saturday or Sunday.
"As far as music-wise, my job is to make sure I make an anthem that takes the game level from point A to point B, keep the crowd hype," Swizz told MTV News. "Just doing what I do. Just like what the players gonna do, what they gonna do on the court. It's just a joint effort to raise the bar for New York, let everyone know it's a problem this year."
The "Go New York" remix video is set to debut on the MSG network, but a release date has not yet been announced.
